Hi everyone! I am now working on an online class through Society of Visual Storytellers web page. I have to admit, that web site has just about everything you need to learn how to actually illustrate children’s books, or graphic novels, or anything else that might be kid related. Right now, I am taking the fundamental classes they list on the web site. This is the first assignment in the first course, How to Draw Everything. This was an upside down drawing of a character the teacher created called Skull Chaser. I have done upside down drawings before, and this one had a lot of lines in it. I got a little lost in all the little lines inside the drawing, but it still came out better than I thought it would. Also, my scanner wouldn’t scan the whole picture I drew. I don’t know why. I think this is a great exercise, but I think for a first time picture, it should have fewer lines in all. I can look on the web and see if I can find some simple line drawings, print them off, and try this again with one of those. That will be the next thing I try.
